According to a big article in the New York Times entitled “The Bride Wore Very Little” the latest trend in Bridal wear is a more vampy gown. Think of what Dita Von Teese, the burlesque dancer, would wear on her way to shimmy inside the cocktail glass and you get the idea. Now in vogue are more sexy, curve hugging dresses that are very low cut in the back and also in the front. An example would be the type of dress worn by Christina Aguiliera. Her wedding dress had a flopping fishtail hem and very deep hemline. Sarah Jessica Parker also had an extremely plummeting neckline on her wedding dress as well. This trend in wedding dresses is attributed to the fact that more and more people are looking to the Hollywood Red Carpet to find ideas for their wedding gowns where the boudoir look is very hot.

Ok now this may not be for everyone, but it is certainly unique. Western theme weddings are very popular in certain locations, mainly western states, and what would a western wedding be without a western style wedding gown? Well there is a site that not only offers the more well known, prairie style wedding gowns, but they also have denim wedding gowns. This site is called SatnSpurs. Now before you go thinking of the horrible mess of Britney and Justin in matching denim outfits, take a look at some of these.
They are styled as traditional satin and lace wedding gowns are, but they are constructed of a durable and comfortable cotton denim. Many of them feature beautiful lace and beading and embroidery. Several styles feature long trains, although there are several that do not. Many of these gowns can do double duty after the wedding as well, particularly the 2 piece styles without trains. The skirts can be worn again with your favorite boots and a lacy tank or sweater. These gowns are also less expensive than many traditional gowns, which gives them another advantage over the satin and lace styles. That’s not to say that these are for everyone, but for those brides who want to be different, they may just be the thing.

You don’t have to spend a lot of money on a Vera Wang to get an updated wedding look. Places like Online Discount Bridal have scads of these dresses for less than $1000. This is good news for the bride on a budget who likes the Mermaid style.
These mermaid styles also look good on bridesmaids. They come in all kinds of fabrics including very sexy, filmy looking rayon. You can also get them in a pleated satin that is not that far off from the construction of a Vera Wang.
Mostly these gowns are a mixture of brocades with tulle or satin bursting out in pleats below the knee. They also come in unusual colors such as pale pink champagne, forest green and chocolate.
On this site you can also get a short version of the dress with a shorter skirt. In this case the dress may be as short as the calf but the actual mermaid flare kicks out just below the knee.
When most of us think of cotton wedding dresses we think of the gauzy Indian style cotton dresses but lately there have been more prim and proper designs than that emerging from several designers. Why all of the sudden interest in cotton wedding dresses? It could have something to do with global warming but it is also a much cheaper fabric than silk or satin.
According to Love Tripper, an online romance advisor and blogger, dotted Swiss, eyelet and white denim are in when it comes to wedding dresses. One designer that is using the fabric a lot is actually creating cotton and denim wedding gowns in New York and not in the down home southern states as you would expect. Christina Dalle Pezze has her own label and has been creating Jackie O and Audrey Hepburn wedding dress stylings our of denim and cotton. This is of course a crisper, cleaner and more contemporary look then the hippy style of wedding dress which is usually very gauzy and sloppy in style.
Either way, cotton and denim lend themselves well for wearing by all members of the bridal party, especially if the ceremony is taking place in the middle of the summer and everyone needs to keep cool.

What exactly is an Elvish style wedding gown? Well if you ever wanted to look like a princess in a medieval fairy tale you are on the right track. Brides dressed in these gowns tend to resemble characters out of the great novels such as the Narnia or the Lord of the Rings Series.
There is not really such a thing as a typical Elvish gown but many of them have tight bodices and low cleavages. It is quite common for the dress to have a well defined pelvic girdle as well as lacing up the front and back. The actual collar of the dress is usually curved and off the shoulder and the sleeves might have double puffs. The skirt can be puffy but usually it is more draped with a lot of flouncing, bows and flower details. White is a very common color for this wedding dress but it is not unusual at all to also find htem in purple, green and other fantastic colors.
Elvish style wedding gowns are quite popular with the pagan and Wicca sets but also sometimes a bride just wants a wedding with a beautiful fairy tale theme. These are not common dresses because they are a bit costumey for most brides. Usually you have to have this style custom made. In that case you might find the kind of dress you are looking for at Rivendel Bridal.

The off-the-shoulder design for wedding dresses is perfect if you want a romantic look. This neckline allows you to show off a pretty collar and some great jewelry, but it is a little more modest than a strapless dress. Jasmine Bridal has some beautiful off-the-shoulder designs in their collection. While the one picture at left is my favorite, they have others as well!
No matter where you get your off-the-shoulder wedding gown, here are some tips for making the style really sing on you:
~ Wear your hair up. You want people to see the beautiful neckline of the dress.
~ Pick a fabulous necklace. You don’t have to be shy here! This kind of dress can support larger or chunky pieces of jewelry.
~ Concentration workouts on your arms. If you’re on a bridal exercise plan, keep in mind that this dress’s cut will throw attention on your arms, so it makes sense to focus work outs on your biceps.

Featured on Shoella, we have a unique pair of lace boots. Some might ask “what kind of gown would you wear those with?” Well we’ve found one. Dianne von Furstenberg has a lovely short, mini-skirt length lace dress that would go perfectly with those lace boots. Dianne von Furstenberg is an American fashion icon and is well known for her famous wrap dresses from the 1970’s, but this lace shift dress evokes a “flower child” feeling of the 1960’s. It features long, bell sleeves and a tonal lining with adjustable straps for a perfect fit. This gown is 100% cotton so it is entirely possible to dye it if you’d like to, as you can dye the boots, but be mindful that cotton does shrink so keep that in mind when selecting your size. This dress would be perfect for a small beachside or destination wedding since the cotton lace makes it breezy and comfortable, even in warmer climates. The semi-fitted style will flatter a variety of body shapes so chances are that it will look great on you too.
