Gone are the days when a bride had to hide the fact she was expecting while she stood at the altar. In fact, it is increasingly more common to see a fully pregnant bride standing at the altar with nobody in the world judging her. Many celebrities have also gotten hitched or planned to get hitched while boasting a big baby bump (such as Nicole Richie).

In response to this newest trend, there is a new shop that has opened in the U.K. that exclusively makes wedding gowns for moms to be. The distinctive design element of these gowns are that there is usually an empire waist to them, and there tends to be a longer hem in the front that is compensated for by the “baby bump” that the bride is carrying.

When all is said and done these gowns are quite beautiful and elegant looking. The empire cut gives them a medieval or very romantic flair, and many of them also have overlays of chiffon and lace draped from the empire waist.

The name of the store selling these beautiful gowns, which are available in every shade of white from eggshell to ivory to snow white, is – Expectant Brides!
